Mike Hardy, co-founder of Cyrus Opportunity Zone Fund, shared how he got started in the opportunity zone space. He was the chair of the Financial Advisor Network for AUSA Pacific University and was educating real estate professionals, CPAs, financial advisors, and the mortgage community on various investment strategies. When he realized there was no expert on opportunity zones, he took it upon himself to research and present on it as an investor. After spending three weeks to a month saturating in the tax law, he realized the potential of opportunity zones and decided to start a fund for himself and other investors who struggled to find an ideal exit for a real estate project.
