For this episode we sat down with Prince Eboke. Prince is the owner and founder of Pillar Housing. Pillar Housing acquires different types of real estate and leases it out to a variety of non-profit organizations, like assisted living facilities and veteran housing . Prince gives us the rundown on what inspired him to start Pillar Housing. He discusses being the “black sheep” in a family that expected him to be a lawyer, doctor, or engineer. This led to his father disowning him for two years. Even so he trusted his gut and continued down the path of real estate. Funny enough, his dad actually helped get involved in the non-profit organization sector. He runs us through his daily routine of how he acquires clients and how to weed out those “bad seeds”.
From here we discuss the concept of “not in my backyard". We look into how it affects decision making in regards to clientele. Prince takes us through the big question we are always looking at with real estate: how is the supply and demand? He discusses the constant opportunities that real estate provides. But dealing with investors is where it can get tricky.
Throughout this episode Prince highlights that the care for your clients is essential. You must want to help. He also highlights the importance of forging your own path in life. Even if this is the road less traveled.
